Objectives:
- To help students understand why effective teamwork is important to good journalism.
- To help students learn best practices to be collaborative, productive, supportive and effective while working on teams.
- To give students insight into how good leadership supports teamwork.
- To let students practice giving constructive feedback and to reflect on how their work in a group setting has been perceived by others.
Module Overview:
When we think of journalists, we often imagine that stereotypical journalist portrayed in film and television, working alone, pursuing leads, doing interviews and reporting on a story. In reality, however, doing good journalism means collaborating with lots of different people. The challenge is to help journalists learn how to be not just ethical and effective journalists but ethical and effective team members.
